Questions about our services? Please call the church office at 210-614-3742
Our traditional services emphasize God's transcendent majesty. We rejoice in our crucified and risen Savior with great hymns of old along with some newer hymns. Our pastors and Communion servers are robed. We're blessed with many talented musicians. Music is led by organ, piano, and often brass and woodwind instruments. The voices of our choir and soloists enhance the music and complement congregational singing. The order of service is projected onto the front wall and side TV screens,
and hymnals are available in the pews as well. We celebrate Holy Communion at traditional services
on the first, third, and fifth Sundays.
Our contemporary services present the timeless truths of God's Word in a modern way. We rejoice in our crucified and risen Savior with current worship music, including many songs familiar to Christian radio listeners. We're blessed with many talented musicians. Music is led by guitars, drums, keyboard, and vocalists. The order of service is projected onto the front wall and side TV screens. We celebrate Holy Communion at contemporary services every weekend. Most people dress in casual clothing.
Church Nursery
We welcome families with little ones in worship!
Our staffed church nursery is available on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 and younger, providing a safe and caring space while parents attend worship.
We also have a family room available for families who prefer to stay with their children during the service. The family room is not staffed, so parents are welcome to use the space to care for their little ones while still being part of our church community.
Discipleship Hour
Discipleship Hour is a time for our Shepherd of the Hills family to grow in God’s Word, strengthen our faith, and build relationships with one another. Held every Sunday between our 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services, Discipleship Hour offers opportunities for all ages—from preschoolers through adults—to learn and grow in Christ together.
For Children and Youth: Children ages 3 through 5th grade gather together in the Kids Ministry Room before heading to age-appropriate classes for Bible lessons, faith-building activities, and fellowship. Children in 6th-12th grade meet in the Youth Room to dive deeper into the Bible and understanding their faith. Classes meet from approximately 10:15–10:45 a.m., with parents picking up children from their classrooms afterward.
For Adults: Adults can participate in a pastor-led class in the Family Life Center Sky Rooms, where they explore God’s Word and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith. Small group opportunities are also offered throughout the year for learning and fellowship.
Whether you are new to Shepherd or have been part of our church family for years, Discipleship Hour is a wonderful way to get connected, ask questions, study Scripture, and grow in your relationship with Jesus.
Come join us and find a class where you can grow in faith and community.
