Alleviating Poverty Locally

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Christian Assistance Ministry. CAM shares the love of Christ by providing immediate assistance and encouragement to people in crisis. Specifically, CAM provides food, clothing, financial assistance, showers, and spiritual assistance to people in need and engaging people who are homeless in an effort to assist them in obtaining short or long-term shelter/housing.
International Mission Work

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Child Beyond International. CBI leads mission trips in Guatemala.
Alleviating Poverty Globally

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Compassion International. Compassion is a Christ-centered, church-driven ministry more than 70 years old that partners with more than 8,000 churches in 29 countries worldwide. They seek to release children from the cycle of poverty by providing them with education, medical care, and Bible teaching in their communities.
Divorce Support Ministry

Shepherd of the Hills ministers to those in need of support with the DivorceCare program. DivorceCare is a faith-based curriculum that offers a safe and confidential environment to help participants understand the painful emotions of divorce and provides the tools to help them to the path of healing.
Grief Support Ministry

Shepherd of the Hills ministers to those in need of support with the GriefShare program. GriefShare is a Christian-based program that gives individuals a safe, welcoming place where people understand the different emotions of grief. We offer all three GriefShare programs: GriefShare 13-week program, Surviving the Holidays, and Loss of a Spouse.
Addressing Hunger and Isolation

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Meal on Wheels. Meals on Wheels organizes and delivers meals to those either unable to prepare meals themselves or have meals provided otherwise. Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America to address hunger and isolation.In San Antonio, there is currently a great shortage of volunteers to deliver meals.
Military Ministry

Share the love of Jesus by serving those who serve (or have served) in our military – and their families. This includes support of the South Texas VA Hospital Fisher House, assistance with and support of special events that support and encourage the military community, encouragement of military members affiliated with our church and school family, and our Poinsettias for Patriots program. This is a growing ministry with future opportunities to serve.
Nursing Home Ministry

Shepherd of the Hills is situated in the Medical Center area of San Antonio, an area filled with retirement communities and assisted living centers. Our nursing home ministry involves one-on-one visits with residents offering prayer, Scripture, and God’s love.
Pregnancy Support Ministry

Shepherd of the Hills partners with the San Antonio Pregnancy Care Center. The PCC provides a Christ-centered plan for women and families facing unplanned pregnancies, by offering free clinical services, referrals, material aid, decision counseling and parenting support programs. At Shepherd, we support this ministry.
Refugee Ministry

God has given us specific directives on how we are to treat foreigners in our land. Jesus himself said, "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." (Matthew 25:35) "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." (Matthew 25:40). The Refugee Ministry works to carry out our Lord’s commands by helping the refugees settled in our neighborhood assimilate into life in the U.S.
Mobility Ramp Ministry

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Texas Ramp Project. We build mobility ramps for lower income individuals in the San Antonio area. The ramps we build allow the clients more easily exit and enter their homes, providing them the ability to go to medical appointments, stores, restaurants, and general community events.
Foster Family Support

Shepherd of the Hills partners with Vault Fostering Community. Vault exists to equip and provide resources to local foster families as they care for vulnerable children, showing them the love of Christ in a tangible way. Vault supports local foster and kinship families with essential items for the children placed in their care as well as provide s opportunities for the community to support and serve foster families and foster youth.
