Compassion International is a Christ-centered, church-driven ministry more than 70 years old that partners with more than 8,000 churches in 29 countries worldwide. They seek to release children from the cycle of poverty by providing them with education, medical care, and Bible teaching in their communities through their monthly support

Job: This is a child sponsorship program
Duties: Sponsors connect with one or more children of various ages and countries to help them achieve his or her God-given potential. They achieve this by exchanging letters, praying for, and encouraging their sponsored child by sending at least two letters per year. They can send more, but the two letters are all that’s required.
Time commitment: The only time commitment is writing two or more letters per year.
Skills needed: No special skills are required or needed other than a willing heart to share your love of Jesus with children from others lands and cultures. If your child speaks a different language than you, they have interpreters that will interpret your letter for them.
Training: No special training is needed. This organization offers lots of suggestions for what to write at www.compassion.com.
